I’m talking about something old, but still wanna clarify it as a new flex today.
Why flexing is still my go-to business philosophy
It’s uncomfortable inspiration. Parallel it to the likes of being at a gym. Watching someone flex is both cringey and entertaining. Applying it to business proves to be valuable because it activates emotions.
Uncomfortable Inspiration: The New Flex That Stands The Test of Time
An uncomfortable inspiration is why I would confidently still call a flex. I call it a new one because there’s people that either aren’t aware of how to tastefully flex, reasonably do it, or have an inclination to do it at all. It’s not for everybody, but neither is business. Funny thing is that it’s still something I recommend everybody try at least once in their life to really appreciate the craft. Same as wrestling.
This is a method I throughly believe works because I’m so familiar with activities like the gym. Most people flex because they either came a long way and want to show it off, or to communicate that’s what they’re really trying to do.
The part that’s not discussed enough is the uncomfortable moments that it took to get at that point. It’s another common scenario in where masses want a result that they’re not willing to process for its obtainment.
Business can be the same way. Maybe a product got developed and you wanna communicate how much more advanced it got in comparison to competitors or just personally. Sometimes it sticks in where being a show off successfully triggered inspiration instead of resentment.
