What are three types of freedom?
- Time Freedom
- Financial Freedom
- Location Freedom
Time Freedom
We’re talking about the new flex when money becomes relevant in your life.
Time Freedom communicates that you’re able to indulge with what in most cases is an activity you’re passionate about.
Money’s not the main focus here, availability is.
It’s important because it makes enjoying the other 2 forms of freedom much easier and worthwhile.
This is also why I’ve placed Time Freedom as priority over Financial most of my 20s.
Hence, that’s why I haven’t had a traditional job as long as I’ve been what many would consider independent.
It’s not for the weak of heart by the way either.
Financial Freedom
Financial freedom to me means having the ability to spend money on whatever you want.
There’s not necessarily any financial issues, but you finally have money to spend on all the necessities and anything else that requires money to have.
This is a top 2 priority in terms of a form of freedom that’s universally desired.
Location Freedom
Let’s say you’re a 26 year old male, and financial freedom is something you have already. Between the other 2, what would you rather choose: time or location freedom? Are you like me and choose the second option? It’s okay if you’re not, but allow me to make my case for why this is likelier to be picked. Location freedom really allows you to go wherever you want! Imagine having as much money you’re gonna need, and you can go wherever you want? You probably wouldn’t mind spending some time doing something less than favorable if you understood that would only be temporary.
Believe it or not, but Location Freedom could arguably be considered the toughest of the 3 forms of freedom to be obtained. For most it could take years to have. If you’re someone that cares more for adventure though, you likely will straggle along on other people’s trips and such if they find it convenient. I’ve definitely had my moments of accepting ride along to go places even without the amount of money I’d like to have at the time. And let me say, everything was worth the experience in reflection.
