Today we’ll be discussing how to create career freedom for yourself with honesty and courage:

Trade your short-term comfort

In terms of success on a professional level, trading your short-term comfort in for long-term security is better because it focuses on compounding consistent disciplines into a system that has to be followed regardless of emotions in order to achieve the results you want. Long-term security is simply looking at the bigger picture for what really matters to you.

It’s a tough ask when we live in a world that highly values the person who succeeds in making short form media. You can respond through just making the decision to make sacrifices that prove you’re reasonably looking for a greater outcome than what’s being presented to you in the moment.

Think of it as making a sound investment. You’re giving up an immediate form of gratification for a better payday in this case. Your short-term comfort would be the money you have readily available that could be spent on something you can get right now for an even better prize that comes to you later down the road if you remain disciplined.

Extra Points of Emphasis

Self-Awareness

Self Awareness is a quality that everyone who wants to be successful should strive to achieve, and can obtain it through becoming more cultured. Getting cultured is just expanding your experiences that you can get in this world. You explore everything it has to offer and get opinions that help define who you are at your core.

It can be the key to living a decent life because you’re going to be wasting less time. You won’t be trying to figure things out because you’re in tune already with where you’re supposed to be at in life. There’s not a guarantee that you’re gonna have happy times all of the time, but a majority will leave you satisfied because you’re going to be quicker with reaching things that truly make you feel happy.

It’s important in personal and professional growth because self awareness puts you around people that compliment your character. This is what keeps you doing the work you enjoy doing. At the very least it keeps you doing the work you’re called to do.

Personal Boundaries

Personal Boundaries are more values that lead to long-term security.

My personal boundary for example is I don’t allow disputes to get physical unless I’m looking to initiate it consensually.

I won’t have discourse with someone if they don’t have the self-control to refrain from taking it that far without at least getting confirmation from me that it’s okay to take it that far.

There’s 7 types of boundaries that should be remembered whenever you’re engaging with anybody else:

  1. Physical
  2. Emotional
  3. Verbal
  4. Time
  5. Work
  6. Spiritual
  7. Financial

My greatest struggle out of all of these are respecting time during discussions mostly, but that’s because I can easily get long-winded.

Decisive Action

Decisive action is another quality that would be ideal to chase because this gets things done.

Short-term and long-term benefits won’t be possible without this.

Analysis paralysis is the poison of any operation worth engaging in.

If you can’t make a decision nor take action on much of anything, you’re merely wasting time.

This instantly becomes a benefit because execution makes the difference between being known as someone who’s all talk, and the other being a person that’ll actually pull the trigger.
