I’ll be explaining why media is so important in society. It’s one of the strongest aids possible to provide assistance with telling the larger story. It easily takes the cake when discussing what’s valued and cherished so high in the world. There’s personalities that emerged from media that’s created, critics, and others that coincide with whatever’s created. Media is something that will be here to stay for what seems like forever. But let’s get into the specifics of what makes media relevant and in so high of demand. Here we go!
Why Is Media So Important In Society?
Media is a resource that should be valued. It provides context to stories that are told. Media functions as a visual aid for support when describing concepts and it continually proves itself to be one of the most effective mediums for capturing different emotions.
Providing Context: Explaining The How of a Story
Context does exactly what the title suggests and yes, that’s explaining how something happened.
Media in most cases tell a story, and when they do they’re tasked with the challenge of accurately telling everything that happened.
Of course that’s putting things as ideally as possible—you have a single medium that paints a picture and it explains everything it needs to in one setting.
Visual Aids: Providing Aesthetics to an Audience
The visual aspects that media bring about is a fascinating concept when you think about it.
That could be both literal or a metaphor.
When most people think about a visual aid, they assume you’re talking about a picture or video, but that’s not always the case.
Did you know that audio can achieve the same result?
It’s media that utilizes sound waves and depending on how it’s constructed could actually speak to the audience in a way that gets them to dream.
It could be in the morning or night by the way.
Capturing Different Emotions: Speaking Through the Senses
Media’s also able to capture different emotions which makes it so effective as a tool.
There’s a channel for each sense that we use.
Video’s likely to be the king in this case, but there could be an argument that there’s not much to watch without being able to hear it.
It’s something I was taught early on in life when I would still take part in band.
Final thoughts
When we look at society as a whole, media that’s universal tends to shine through the most.
These are my reasons as to why it’s so important to society again:
- captures emotion effectively
- Serves as a visual aid
- It provides context
