I’ll be discussing what role communication plays in being able to lead, influence, and create opportunities.
It’s something that tends to get overlooked. At the very least taken for granted. We all like great leaders that can speak their mind.
But how much emphasis should get placed on being able to communicate? Does it matter as much as much as how it’s usually painted to be?
We’re gonna get to the bottom of that today!
What role communication played in being able to lead, influence, and create opportunities for myself and others
A major role. Leading is dependent on it because it’s what allows me to communicate with the people I’m tasked with to lead. Influence gets added because most people are attracted to someone that can speak effectively to others, so doing my best in this area becomes crucial. And creating opportunities is another factor because it airs out any grievances or desires that anybody has. If I’m the person representing myself or anyone else, it all becomes a chance at creating life changing opportunity.
How do you communicate effectively as a leader?
Communicating effectively as a leader takes understanding what language your audience speaks. It doesn’t stop there though. You have to be the bridge on leading them from point A to B. Not only is it the literal act of speaking, but you have to find the ways that your audience prefers to consume the message that’s needed to be heard. I personally continue writing the message that’s needed to be shared and doing whatever possible to get them in front of everybody, but my preference usually lies in song form or making videos. Sometimes it doesn’t even take you yourself having to say the message. It could be hiring an ambassador that’s better at putting messages out in spaces where they’re needed.
How to be a more effective speaker
Being a more effective speaker takes practice and competition. Practice is needed because there’s less pressure in the performance. You can talk in whatever tone you choose. Whether it’s casual, professional, a mixture of both, or aggressive, the goal can be chased without having an audience judging the way you execute. Competition is next because it puts your quizzes to the test. You’re likely to have more eyes on the conversation. The stakes may be higher. You will have expectations to meet and there’s a chance that what you’re speaking about will cause a genuine influence on the people you’re talking to.
Is being an ambassador a big deal?
An ambassador is highly important because of what it represents. Ideally you’re the person that stands for whatever the culture is. You’re gonna be doing the negotiations, conversations, and evaluations on if your people’s needs are being met. There’s mega value in ambassadorship because of the change that could potentially happen if you ensure everything goes right with the powers that need be. It can’t be stressed enough to know that communication skills are important when speaking on behalf of anybody or anyone.
Final thoughts
Communication allows us to lead, influence, and create opportunities. For these reasons:
- Communicating with the group you’re expected to lead
- Creating attraction that can connect with existing and even newer audiences
- If done correctly it can properly get demands and necessities earned for the group of people it’s being done for
It’s shown with the emerging stars that are created in what seems like the daily.
The professions that create these effects tend to have the skill of communicating in common.
