Is Being Focused A Behavior Or Skill? (Answered)

Today I’ll be discussing if being focused is a behavior or skill. Actually answering it. It’s a quality that I learned to emphasize more when I got involved with wrestling.

I’d say the average person would classify focus as a skill because there’s not many people I’ve heard compliment someone or even criticize them to be focused. It doesn’t seem like something you’re naturally born with.

Focus however seems to be a quality of freedom when you’re trying to get more of it in your life. Similar in the earlier piece I did on how to have it, I see it as something that helps you get more of something.

Being focused is a learned skill. With it you’re able to understand your emotions better.

Being able to understand your emotions

You figure out which emotions can be improved on based off what you have in your life. There’s moments you experience “roadblocks” that you become aware of. Eventually it leads to an understanding of what needs to be corrected and that will include the emotions you have to put in check for the results you want.

In my experience I’ve had felt just about every emotion you could think of. I’m still in the process of understanding them fully. But I am at a point where I can safely share what I believe the most complicated emotions are, and they’re:

• Sympathy

• Love

• Humility

• Calmness

I’ll provide some context. Sympathy is actually tougher for me than empathy, because I’ve grown into where I intend on sharing some feelings with anyone that’s in my conscience. That ties in with love because I don’t feel 100% confident that I’m sure what it is yet, at least mutually speaking. It’s a sliding scale though because humility feels complicated too. I’m aware that my career with rapping has it set up to where humility doesn’t put you at the top of your ranking. The calmness is added too because with juggling those emotions, it has moments where I get hyped up and stay stuck in that feeling. The complication is from agreeing with myself that it’s best to be in a state of calmness. I’ll get to where I feel excited or even anxious and it only calms down when I pass out from exhaustion.

You can start learning more about your emotions through experiencing new things if you’re someone like me and feel that there’s plenty more of life to experience and you have to take those moments up and give them a try. You’re never 100% sure on what it is that you will be going through and have the opportunity to learn from, but keeping your emotions present in the front of your mind ends up revealing what others can be as well, so mastering your self ends up being a mastery over others too.

Emotions can be customized. There’s always something that makes us unique in some way, although there are universal ones that just can’t be denied no matter what. You can look media for reference. That’s why movies have genres and same as music. They’re categories that tug at our strings emotionally and are usually effective at activating them when we choose to indulge.

Emotions have a time and place. They can be acknowledged in real time, but it’s not always appropriate to express certain ones. Suppressing them can sometimes be an escape that’s not healthy for the person doing it. You find that the most disciplined people in this area are actually the highest performers in their chosen field too.
