How surrounding myself with the right network influenced my growth, decision-making skills, and confidence

It helped me embrace the culture of personal development. What it does is remind me that I’m not alone in desiring more for myself and the family I choose to start. It’s done friendly peer pressure in a way that challenges me to raise my own standards and hold myself accountable for goals I set for myself. As a result it builds my confidence because I see myself becoming the success story that can confidently share their story with anyone that’s trying to become one too.

Does my social media feed genuinely inspire me, or just distract me?

This is an important question to ask yourself when choosing to earn a honest career and friendship with the people you meet on socials. There’s not a guarantee and in most cases when you start to dedicate more of your time to social media, you will find that your timeline is actually toxic. That’s not always the case though, there’s genuine people you can authentically connect with and build relationships that will push you to become a better person.

They become distractions once you find that you’re not able to get work done. You don’t do the same things, follow the same content, or even conduct yourself the same way. It’s a distraction if you want to elevate but consistently go nowhere in life.

What am I actually learning from the content I consume every day?

Here’s another question that should be asked internally when choosing to network with the assistance of the internet.

A large part of your time will be spent online  when choosing this route. You have to be learning something from doing this.

This is a different scenario than choosing to be a consumer without any intention of starting a business from it or a promising career.

There’s a good amount of what you’re doing will be consumed as entertainment, and it should be, but there will also be a point where you’re going to have to ensure that your content is also educational.

How do the people you surround yourself with influence what you focus on day to day?

People you surround yourself with influences day to day focuses through a law of association. “Birds of a feather flock together” is the phrase that fits well with this concept. They do so by encouraging you to spend your time similar to how they do. They’re likely to tell you what books to read, music to listen to, pictures to see, and plenty of other things to consume. The list goes on when you add the food they suggest you try, places to visit, and even financial advice they might suggest. We listen to these people because they’re part of our social circle most of the time. They’re pieces to our lives that we have to determine how much will affect the majority of it.
